Creole Giselle, the acclaimed DTH classic which premiered in 1984 at the London Coliseum in London, England, was reconceived by Arthur Mitchell and staged by Frederic Franklin, based on the original by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot. At the culmination of the week’s activities, viewers will be able to enjoy the full ballet of Creole Giselle that was filmed for a television broadcast in Aarhus, Denmark, in September of 1987.

Wednesday, June 3rd Inside Giselle at 8pm Watch a conversation with original cast members Lorraine Graves, Augustus van Heerden, and Theara Ward on their experience filming Creole Giselle in Denmark in August 1987 in Aarhus, Denmark that will be available on our IGTV, YouTube and Facebook channels.
Thursday, June 4th Giselle Jeopardy at 8pm Test your knowledge on the Creole Giselle ballet in this fun interactive Jeopardy game powered by Factile, hosted by DTH Company Artist, Lindsey Donnell on Zoom. Register here
Friday, June 5th 3pm: What’s the Step Dance with DTH Company Artist, Stephanie Rae Williams, as she teaches Giselle’s first act variation live on our Instagram.
8pm: Becoming Giselle Watch interviews with DTH’s beloved Giselles from different eras of the company including insights on dancing a principal role, building the character and performance insights. Interviewees include Artistic Director Virginia Johnson, former ballerina Kellye Saunders, and current DTH company members and will available to watch on our YouTube and Facebook channels.
